      Hi Sue,

      We're a small team, one part-time staff member, with a very limited budget. We rely entirely on voluntary help to launch and grow subjects, from qualified professionals.

      We don't implement all the suggestions, but we do use this forum as a guide.

        Hi Sue,

        We're a small team, one part-time staff member, with a very limited budget. So changes can be slow to be implemented, taking much longer than commercial sites.

        We don't implement all the suggestions, but we do use this forum as a guide for the most pressing development.

        This ticket is being addressed, however, by the developers.

              @Ayanami Rei we are a very small team with one part-time staff member and very limited resources - as we donate all the funds raised.

              We do our best to implement our community's suggestions, including many new subjects that we're constantly adding to, teacher registration for classes, and more. Additionally, we maintain a very complicated site, answer hundreds of emails every day, and do the best we can with limited resources.

              The suggestion is a good one, and we are aware of this thread. However, there is considerable development costs involved in implementing it. For this reason, it's not yet been activated.

              We're a nonprofit, without the resources of sites like Facebook, and so things can be slow. We ask for you patience, in addition to the support that you give us by raising rice.

              We greatly appreciate the Freerice community, and realise the site could not exists without you!

                  To delete a group, simply login and go to http://freerice.com/groups/my

                  Click on the link for the group you want to delete, and then click "delete" and confirm that you are sure you would like to delete it.

                    However, if the problem persists, would it be possible to let us know::

                    1. What internet browser you use and the version?

                    2. Do you use anti-virus software, and if so which?

                    3. Do you use ad blockers on your browser? If so, disable them and let us know if that makes a difference and which ad blocker you use?

                    4. What is your operating system?

                    5. What is your Internet connection type & speed?

                    6. Do you have JavaScript enabled or disabled in your browser?

                    7. Do you experience problems with other web-sites, or only with Freerice?

                    8. Does Freerice sometimes work for you, or never?

                    9. Was Freerice working fine for you in the past? If so, when…

                    @Sarah and Debbie, if you are not receiving your email confirmations or password reminders, this is usually connected to a mistyped email during registration or changed details.

                    Please don't post this problem to this ticket, as this is unrelated.

                      This is a priority for Freerice, as one of the most requested features.

                      We are actively seeking sponsors for a Freerice API, which would enable to developers and supporters to create various versions of a Freerice app and as well as other exciting programmes and extensions for Freerice.

                      @Jtoomey, there have been several illegal apps that were in no way connected to Freerice and were not genuinely raising rice. We are in talks with sponsors, but it is taking longer than expected. We will let players know the minute we have secured a sponsor and have launched an app.

                        Littlefighter, thank you for playing Freerice and our apologies for the problem you’re experiencing. The problem may be connected to the antibot – if you answer questions too quickly, correctly, the system thinks you are a bot. This is to protect our sponsors and ensure all the rice raised is legitimate.

                        If you try simply slowing down a little does that help?

                        This is a problem that we are aware of and we are working on a solution. However, we're a very small team, and it can take some time to implement even the smallest development work. So we appreciate your patience.

                        We have also noted your comments elsewhere on a captcha solution, and it is one of the options we're considering implementing.

                          Our apologies, to clarify, we mean that there are many people who are blind and play Freerice. They often struggle with Captchas. But have considered this option, and are actively discussing this very thing!

                            This is a bug that our developers are working on this week, and have worked on last week.

                            We have a possible solution that we will be implementing on this coming Monday.

                            Pikesmom, could you please let us know the group you’re referring to and perhaps some of the usernames?

                            We’re a small nonprofit, managed by WFP. We donate 100% of rice/funds raised and so have limited resources. The WFP developers are trying to support us as best they can, between their other projects, but it does mean being patient. We are constantly improving the system, but it is a gradual process!

                            Thank to you all for your patience and feedback! The developers have been working around the clock to resolve this bug - it seems related to an increase in traffic to Freerice that is overloading our databases and making them do strange things! The fix should be implemented by next week.

                                  Do you mean when you first arrive at FR you see ads, but the minute you start answering they disappear?

                                  This sounds like an adblocker problem – do you have any software that might be filtering out the ads. This could include antivirus software that perhaps a little active, to actual ad blocking software.

                                  Can you also let us know what you see in place of ads? For example, do you see “Freerice block” as a message?

                                  we downloaded the free AVG to test whether this affected ads displaying, but all seems ok.

                                  Could we perhaps find out what country you are located in? If you are in a country with low internet traffic, it may simply be a case of the network not having relevant ads to display.

                                          We recently had a bug with cookies, where cookies were deleted before totals could register in the database.

                                          This should now be resolved, can you check please if this is still happening? Did this happen yesterday, when you posted this thread?

                                          Could you try clearing your browser cookies and cache, then refresh the page?

                                          Also please note that the cookie now has a 24 hour expiry date, so that if you are not logged in, the total you see will reset to 0.

                                          (Please note, even though it resets, the rice is added to the grand total and is not lost. It will still go to feeding those who need it most!)

                                            Kaylee, where you logged in at the time?

                                            Please note, the totals on the rice bowl are not tracked permanently for you (they get counted to the grand total, for the Freerice database, but on your computer they are cookie based)...
